Strange directory properties after opening thunar with unmounted directory
Thunar 4.17.7:
- Mount some usb stick.
- Open Thunar, set it to detailled list view to make the problem clearly visible.
- Display some subdir of the mounted stick (one level below the mount point).
- Close thunar with that directory shown.
- Unmount the stick.
- Open thunar.
- Effect: In most cases, some default dir is displayed instead of the no longer accessible subdir, which is what I'd expect (in rare cases, an empty tab with the inaccessible subdir was opened, but I was unable to reproduce that clearly).
- Mount the same stick again (while thunar is still open).
- Select and show the mount point of the stick (i.e. the toplevel dir of the stick, containing the subdir which was shown above).
Effect:
- The content of the stick's toplevel dir is shown, but the entry of the subdir which was shown when closing thunar before and which was unaccessible when thunar was reopened is shown with completely wrong details: Size 0 (size is usually not shown for dir's), type folder, "unknown" date, wrong user root:root (should be my user and group), wrong permissions 0666 (should be 0700).
- Also, that subdir is not shown in the dir tree on the left (other subdir's are shown).
- Clicks on the dir entry are ignored: Although the directory is available again, it is not entered or shown.
The entry is fixed and can be opened after reloading the view.
Details:
- Stick with fat file system.
- Mount point in fstab, with "user" mount option.
- Mounting/unmounting done with Xfce mount panel plugin.
- Unmounted mount point has root:root and 0700 (i.e. is not accessible to me!).
- Mounted mount point and all files and dir below it have my user and group.
