v4.16.1 - regression bug? associate keyboard space bar with action

I did a fresh install of XFCE 4.16 against 4.14 (Manjaro) - reformated the Manjaro partition

In Thunar 1.8.16 I could associate keyboard SPACE bar with action see https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16331

In Thunar 4.16.1 I fail to have the same behaviour.
