'open terminal here won't work with file marked by cursor/mouse

I hope this is the right channel to post this: the 'open terminal here' function (set to <F4> Keyboard shortcut) is a nice feature. However it only works if there's a folder or nothing selected by the cursor/mouse. If a file is selected with the mouse it won't do anything. I was wondering if this behaviour can be changed somewhere, so the current folder holding the selected file is opened in a terminal. This is in Thunar 1.8.4.
