Incorrect display when scrolling with up/down arrow keys through files/folders

Version information

Thunar 4.20.1 MX-23.6_x64 Libretto July 31 2023 base: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)

Steps to reproduce

  1. ... Open a directory with several files/folders (the more items, better to see), more notably with detailed/compact view.
  2. ... Try to scroll through the list with arrow keys, keeping arrow key pressed for a certain time..

Current behavior

Instead of "showing" the scrolling throug, when holding down the up/down arrow keys, the selection remains frozen and "jumps" periodically to the position it has reached, but the user can't know where it has reached in a certain moment because the scrolling isn't displayed

Expected outcome

The expected behavior is that the list scroll in a fluid manner so you can see the list and which file/folder is selected in an instant

Additional information

Similar behavior happens when scrolling through the Side Pane, most notably in the Tree view (shortcuts view also but there are other overlapping issues here which deserve another report), when there are several items. When holding arrow key, you can see the file names changing in the title bar, but the selected item in the side pane keeps quiet and "jumps" from time to time..

This does not happen with other file managers (pcmanfm, nemo, nautilus), where they display as expected in the same device.

I could try to make a video if needed.
