Can't access Samsung phone data over MTP since 4.20.5

This has started as a gvfs ticket originally, so please see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/-/issues/817 for the details. Bisecting shows commit 8fd63243 in Thunar as the culprit, thus we are here.
