Thunar unresponsive when using gvfs-mtp with thumbnails enabled

Version information

Thunar 4.20.4 CachyOS - Hyprland 0.50.1

Steps to reproduce

1. Open thunar - change 'Show thumbnails to Always'
2. Plug in android device
3. Open internal storage DCIM directory to view camera images

Current behavior

If I change 'Show thumbnails to Always', when I click open a directory with images on an Android device, the thumbnails appear, and then Thunar gives a popup saying Application Not Responding, which appears for a few seconds then disappears, and then reappears every few seconds, then I can't use Thunar, I have to click the Terminate button to kill Thunar, then I have to change the setting back for the thumbnails to Local Files Only.

Expected outcome

I assumed using Show thumbnails Always this would work and it doesn't. I need to be able to view images on Android devices.

I'm not sure if this is a gvfs-mtp upstream issue, or with Thunar.
