[REGRESSION] Files disappear after being moved from a different directory and manual refresh is required

4.18.4 Mint 21.3

Steps to reproduce

1. Mark a block of files
2. Select 'Cut' from the menu
3. Change the directory
4. Paste the files
5. Refresh the directory with F5

Current behavior

• AFTER performing the step 2 a random subset of files gets unmarked, the rest stays marked
• AFTER performing the step 4 the files appear in the new directory for an eye blink and then disappear
• AFTER performing the step 5 the files re-appear

Expected outcome

• no inconsistency in unmarking files after the step 2
• no files disappearing after the step 4

Additional information

It COULD be related to the computer speed as I upgraded the HW to high-end specs recently and the problem was not there before. If I move the files to a slower media (rotational harddrive), then it doesn't happen, but moving files within the same nvme drive has 100% bug reproducibility.
