(optionally) paste from path

If i have only the path to a file/folder in clipboard (instead of the file itself), ctrl+v in a folder displays the error dialog that clipboard contains nothing to paste, right-click menu "paste" is greyed out. I have always to use "open terminal here" to cp <path> .

Expected behavior would be to paste the file/folder the path in clipboard points to.

If this behavior is an issue in default behavior, maybe expose it in the settings?
