Location column selection reverts when changing folder in another window

I am using Thunar 4.18.6 on Kali 2023.2. The issue I have noticed is that after selecting the location column in list view, if I double-click a folder in a different window, the location column disappears. This doesn't occur with other columns - selecting or deselecting other columns is unaffected by changing folder in a different window. I first noticed the behaviour when using the search, which is when having the location column is particularly useful, but it also occurs if the location column is selected in a normal folder view.
