I just fixed it, so can't see what it actually was, but it looked something like "Shift Control + 0xAD46C5" with only the hex number changing between shortcuts. All shortcut fields displays this, including the ones that don't have default shortcuts.
To fix it so the shortcuts displays right (good for reference), I click "clear the shortcut" and then "restore the default shortcut". This doesn't work for the ones that don't have default shortcuts; for these I must manually set a new shortcut and then delete it.
This is of course just a minor thing, but it seems to happen every time I install Xfce. To check, I just made a new user with an empty home directory and started Xfce, but then all shortcuts displayed right, so oddly enough it seems to be just right after installing Xfce.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/-/issues/1254Thunar crashes when disconnecting from vpn with network share mounted2024-01-14T13:07:48ZSidThunar crashes when disconnecting from vpn with network share mountedI have a network share mounted and the storage server is only accessible through a VPN. The pop up doesn't tell you which file(s) or why, and additionally obscures the copy dialogue box so it's hard to know. Also other errors occurred (use of other characters, illegal under FAT/exFAT, plus some unknown errors).
So I would like to suggest the following:
- Information on which file is causing the error and why
- Options to correct filename(s)
- a simple rename field
- a replace illegal character(s) option with sensible suggested defaults (with a 'Replace in all files' option)
- e.g. Turn | into ¬
- Turn > into }
- and < into {
- Generate a copyable, tabulated report of error(s) to allow fault finding afterwards
- to include location, 'before' and 'after' names
- in case names were shortened, renamed or, for example 'file not found' errors occurred
Thanks for considering.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/-/issues/1223Add an option to ignore symlinks when calculating total disk space usage2023-10-10T07:09:01ZRizal MartinAdd an option to ignore symlinks when calculating total disk space usageI noticed that the calculation of disk space usage in thunar includes symlinks which were treated as real files. In previous versions of Thunar, I often used regex capture groups in the bulk renamer. However, earlier today, I tried to use it and found that it was not working.
The matching itself is working (e.g. searching for `(.+)` and `.+` with the replacement `test` using the 'Name and Extension' mode resulted each entry in the 'New Name' column being `test`).
However, when I try to reference a capture group (using a backslash with the number of the capture group), e.g. `\1`, in the replacement, the 'New Name' column goes completely blank as if the 'Replace With' field were empty or the 'Search For' field matched nothing.
This happens regardless of the position of the reference, e.g. `test\1`, \1test`, or `te\1st`; regardless of the group referenced, e.g. `\0`, `\1`, `\256` etc.; and regardless of whether the referenced capture group exists (see the previous examples--they were used with only one capture group).
Handling typical escape sequences is not broken so it does not seem to be a problem with general backslash handling.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a directory named exactly the same as an existing directory, e.g. `x`.
2. If the "already exists" dialog appears, press Cancel.
3. Create a directory with the same name (`x`) again.
4. The non-interactable and non-closable File Operation Dialog appears.
The original, not perfectly reliable steps to reproduce:
1. Create a directory "tester".
2. Edit=>Make Link: "link to tester".
3. Enter "link to tester" and create a subdir "x".
4. Shift+Delete (remove permanently) both "tester" and "link to tester".
5. Undo.
6. Redo.
7. If a confirmation dialog appears, choose Cancel.
8. Undo.
9. Redo.
10. Undo.
11. Redo.
12. At some point the non-interactable and non-closable File Operation Dialog appears.
The dialog can be maximized, unmaximized, minimized, but not closed, paused or stopped. `thunar --quit` does not close the dialog or an open Thunar window. The open Thunar window can be closed normally. A new Thunar window can be opened. But the dialog won't disappear.
Workaround: end the *thunar* process in a system monitor to get rid of the dialog.

When the user has the side tree pane enabled, when they click on a folder in the main pane and continue descending the side pane does not expand the tree down to the currently explored folder.
For example if my home directory "Me" is the root in the side tree pane and its contents listed in the main pane, when I double click on the "Documents" folder within the home directory, and then again within its child "Stuff" folder, I would have expected the side tree pane to have expanded these two folders.
