xfce4-about does show single quotes if used in os-release file

values must be enclosed in double or single quotes if they include spaces

So both should be valid to be used in os-release file. (singe and double-quoates) But if using single quotes xfce4-about shows the quotes: Would be nice to be able to use single quotes too.. will need changes in this: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/libxfce4ui/-/raw/master/xfce4-about/system-info.c
