exo-open --launch WebBrowser does not take into account customized desktop files in ~/.local/share/applications

Description

I have a modified desktop file for my preferred web browser in ~/.local/share/applications. However exo-open seems to launch the web browser based on the desktop file in /usr/share/applications.
