Accented and non-accented searched words mutually exclusive in search results

I'm using the whisker menu in french, and when i'm searching for accented words like vidéo, results like the non-accented word video will not come up - and vice-versa. This might be a good thing in some languages, in which a diacritic can make the same word have a entirely different meaning, but in my experience it's annoying me more than once, until i realized i had included an accent that was not present either in the name or description of the app i was looking for.

My suggestion is as follows: either remove all accents from searched words and include accented variants of that word in the searched, or make it an option for those who want this available.
