In Mint 21.3 XFCE, Flatpak app launcher icons sent to Desktop from whiskermenu don't work
Problem making working Flatpak applications Desktop launcher icons in Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE, with installed Xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin V 2.7.2-1-bpo22.04 (latest from Software Manager). Flatpak app framework installed is V 1.12.7-1
Problem: Flatpak apps install OK in Linux Mint XFCE 21.3, and can be opened by clicking on the app's icon/name entry in the whisker menu panel (Applications Menu), but the problem is that when you right-click on the Flatpak app's name and select "Add to Desktop", the icon that appears on the Desktop is just a nondescript gray box containing an X and an arrow, and it will not launch the app.
This same non-working gray icon appears no matter which Flatpak app is selected to add to the Desktop. This problem does not occur when making Desktop launcher icons from non-Flatpak applications. On the other hand, a working Flatpak app launcher can be made directly on the Desktop by right-clicking on it and using its "Create Launcher" tool, but this is a bit tedious and arcane to those new to Linux Mint.
I asked about this on the Linux Mint Forums, but the only answer received was that it was probably not an issue with Linux Mint or Flatpak, but more likely an issue with the whiskermenu plugin. If so, can this be fixed in future versions? Or has it already been fixed in version 2.8? (That's not yet in the Software Manager.)
