Volume adjustment changes speaker balance

tbh, I am not entirely shure, this can even be fixed, the issue may lay with PulseAudio itself. But lets try.

When I adjust my speaker balance (left/right and front/rear) using pavucontrol and then change the volume with xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin, the balance reverts to "all channels equal". I would like to keep the balance (ratio between channels) when adjusting the volume.

It seems, pavucontrol does not even support his: when adjusting the balance, then locking channels together and then adjusting volume in pavucontrol, it simply does what the plugin does: set all channels to the same level.

Can the panel plugin preserve the ratio between the channels? merci hase
