Show Icons for Apps without .desktops

Currently apps that don't have .desktop files associated with them or aren't known by the plugin are just displayed as default applciation icons (gears on my system). Would it be possible to just display the window icon as the button icon on the dock? (many applications have this problem, such as Celeste)
