How does "Get indicator color from theme" work?

Hello, I am having issues with getting the indicator to follow the colors from gtk theme. So far with every theme I tried, the indicators are all either white or black. Can you recommend me a theme that has this working?

I also checked the documentation page, and the Theming section doesn't mention anything about indicator colors.
