Window color keeps changing all the time

Hello,

I have a completely bizarre terminal color issue happening as of today:

I selected "Vary the background color for each tab" for "Colors" under Applications--> Settings--> xfce4-terminal--> Preference--> Colors.

The usual behavior is that a random color is selected and it stays;

--But now, every time I click on anything/open up a new window, etc, all colors change! (and keep changing)

I found a possibly related issue here: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15740 --is it indeed the same issue? if so, I don't quite follow the solution.

I am using XFCE under a X2Go terminal on a shared server: Centos8
