Cursor disappears when power is connected
If an Xfce Terminal window has focus when I plug the laptop power in, the cursor disappears permanently. This is always reproducible for me.
My environment
- Xfce Terminal v. 0.8.10
- Linux Kernel 5.12.9 (also occurred on 5.10.x series)
- Intel UHD Graphics 620, Mesa 21.1.2
- X.Org 1.20.11
I'm testing on Slackware-current, 64bit, so that should be unmodified Xfce, kernel & most other packages. I reported it here on Slackware: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/disappearing-cursor-in-xfce4-terminal-on-slackware64-current-4175692855/ and another user reported that it happened to them on Manjaro.
Other info
A workaround once the cursor has disappeared is to drag the tab for the cursorless terminal outside the window to create a new terminal window. The terminal in the new window gets its cursor back.
Immediately after the cursor disappears, ctrl+d does not close the terminal. Pressing delete/backspace then ctrl+d will close the terminal
