It would be nice to have a semi-automatic user friendly :-) QR code recognition in the desktop environment. It seems to me that this could be done as an enancenment to xfce4-screenshooter: just grab a screen region, window, etc., and offer "Recognize barcodes/QRcodes" option besides the Save, Open with, Host on ... options. The recognition itself could be done using the zbarimg(1) utility. Thanks for considering this enhancement.
