Allow self hosting Images in Imgur with credentials
This has been talked before. Self-hosting images to the web is better because
A) All images are consolidated in one place for easier searching and uploading cross-platform
B) Deleting when needed. Non-self hosted images can only be deleted using a request form at Imgur. And even if they are deleted a direct link still exists by using .png
at the end. This does not happen for self-hosted Imgur accounts.
Currently I'm using this script for the function: https://github.com/jomo/imgur-screenshot/blob/master/imgur-screenshot.sh
Steps:
-
Create or log-in to an imgur account in default browser
-
Generate API credentials, put them in the script
-
Select an image editor for eg. mtPaint to put in the script.
Now if I map and press F12,click and drag the screen area, screenshot opens in editor, close the editor, screenshot is uploaded to Imgur under my account in browser.
