[Feature Request] Allow media keys to not wake the screen(saver)

I commonly have a system running audio only and want the screen to go blank. After the screen has blanked, I have to press the play/pause key twice to start/stop playback. It will first cancel the screensaver; the second press will issue the play/pause command. Ideally I would be able to use the media play/pause key without waking the display from sleep.

Although somewhat related to #135 and #190, this item is distinct in that it isn't related to the lock screen being active.
