xfce4-screensaver activates when computer is idle despite option switched off

Hello,

I have xfce4-screensaver-4.18.2 running on a Gentoo box. I want to use it as just a screen locker, so I have disabled the option Activate screensaver when computer is idle.

The screensaver still activates after the timeout set in Regard computer as idle after. If I switch on the idle-saver, change the timeout value, and switch it off again, it will activate after the new timeout. It seems to ignore the idle-saver toggle.

Settings:

  • Enable scrensaver: On

  • Theme = Blank screen, sleep after 1s, off after 5m

  • Activate screensaver when computer is idle: Off

  • Regard computer as idle after: if set to 15 minutes -> screensaver activates after 15 minutes

  • Inhibit for fullscreen: on

  • Enable Lock Screen: On

  • Lock Screen with screensaver: On, 0 minutes

  • Lock Screen with System Sleep: On

  • On-screen keyboard: Off

  • Session Status messages: Off

  • Logout: Off

  • User Switching: Off

In xfce4-power-manager, Blank/Put to sleep/Switch off after is also enabled, but set to high values (30/31/32 minutes). The screensaver activates after only 5 minutes, so this isn't the culprit.
