(parole:20746): Gdk-WARNING **: 16:16:52.997: The program 'parole' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)'.

that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

My workaround: try it again. It usually works the next time I open the same file.
What should I do next?

Only the video's frames become visible without the usual playback. To rectify this, I need to restart the video from the beginning. This behavior is noticed particularly after using the slider to navigate to different positions in the video.https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/126Replace deprecated and X11-only GtkStatusIcon with StatusNotifierItem2023-09-10T15:11:10ZGaël BonithonReplace deprecated and X11-only GtkStatusIcon with StatusNotifierItemhttps://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/124Add video image capture2023-08-03T10:24:55Z海天鹰Add video image capturehttps://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/122Function (Fn) key support2023-05-07T08:36:08ZMartin KFunction (Fn) key supportMost keyboards have a special `Fn` key, that when combined with one of the F(1-12) keys on the top row, some shortcut function is performed.

I guess this is easily implemented (special cases only at the very beginning: limit to second 0) or at the very end (limit to end time of recording). This means that you can't have the playlist on the screen while doing other things with Parole, like clicking pause or skipping around to different positions in the current playing song.
It also means that annoying stuff happens, for example, if you try to click on pause while the playlist is showing, the playback doesn't pause and instead all that happens is that the playlist disappears from view. So you have to click pause again annoyingly. And then you have to click on the playlist button yet again to be able to see the playlist again.
It isn't really very nice to use if you actually use playlists at all.https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/108Black screen when try to play videos (formats mp4, webm, mkv)2022-09-03T03:57:22ZJonhatan BernalBlack screen when try to play videos (formats mp4, webm, mkv)Hello everyone

Operating system: Xubuntu 22.04
Parole Media Player version: 4.16.0
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce MX250
Driver: nvidia-driver-515
Description of the problem:
When I try to play videos in the formats mp4, webm and mkv, no video is showing, only audio is played. By default the parameter "Video Output" in Preferences was set in 'Automatic'. If I change it to 'Windows system X (X11/XShm/Xv)', finally I can see the videos but only in the formats mp4 and webm.
For the format mkv that change doesn't fix the problem, even if a set the 'Video output' in 'Windows system X (without Xv)'.
Before, I was using Xubuntu 20.04 (I don´t remember the Parole version). With the parameter 'Video output' set in 'Automatic', I was able to play all the videos in different formats without problems.
Another symptom I notice is that when I tried to play a big mp4 file (2.6GB), the RAM consumption became very high. If I play the same file in other software it doesn't happen.
