## Description
Since a recent update in Arch Linux to gtk3/clutter/cogl, parole (built from git) segfaults when the clutter backend is enabled. Not using the "--enable-clutter" configuration parameter makes parole work again. This is probably related to clutter migration to gdk backend (from x11)- see: https://blogs.gnome.org/clutter/

## Description
OS: Debian 8 (32 bit)
GUI: LXDE
Parole version: 0.8.0
When hovering with the cursor between the 3 bottom right corner buttons: Volume, Full Screen, Show Playlist.
i.e. hovering with the cursor between the buttons, in order to change description box showing the button name.
Instead of just seeing the button description (e.g. "Show Playlist").
There is blinking of the "description box" showing for few ms the image of the upper left corner of the GUI of the menu (e.g. "Media").
This reproduction requires moving the cursor back and forth on the border between two buttons and waiting for the description box to be shown.

## Description
This is almost a feature request, but it's so nearly there I hope it's a bug ...
I have Thunar 1.6.12 open on files across the LAN using sftp, and if I press the space bar on a selected MP3, the file plays correctly in Parole.
If I drag and drop a directory or a collection of files, Parole cues up all the files in the first sub-directory of the remote view. Now here's were it is
strange:
I have a dir structure like
```
music/
+- folder_one
+- file_one.mp3 ...
+- folder two
```
if I select folder one while in 'music' and drag and drop, the files in folder one are cued and played
if I select folder two while in 'music' and drag and drop, the files for folder_one are again cued
if I enter folder two and select all files from folder two, drag and drop, the files from folder one are cued, one copy for every file in the select list
if I enter folder two and select a file and press the space bar, the correct file is played
this suggests something goes wrong in the drag and drop?
It would be really sweet if I could keep my files on one machine, but play them on another. Videos too, and the space-bar behaviour suggests it is possible, just not yet fully implemented :)

## Description
Parole is playing big_buck_bunny_720p_h264.mov as a slide show with probably plenty frames dropped.
In the same environment
```
$ GST_DEBUG_DUMP_DOT_DIR=./ gst-launch-1.0 playbin3 uri=file://$(pwd)/big_buck_bunny_720p_h264.mov
```
is playing flawless and assembles a pipeline as visualized in playbin3-pipeline.pdf.
Parole seems not to obey the GST_DEBUG_DUMP_DOT_DIR environment variable. I tried to drop in some
`GST_DEBUG_BIN_TO_DOT_FILE_WITH_TS (GST_ELEMENT (gst->priv->playbin), GST_DEBUG_GRAPH_SHOW_ALL, "parole-pipeline");`
but unfortunately I do not understand the parole code good enough to drop it in at the proper place.
How can this be further investigated?

It seems i can't get the controls to auto hide consistently so i can't say exactly what have to be done.
But seems like you have to click the speaker icon to show the volume slider and move the cursor away from the controls and then (sometimes) efter 5 seconds the controls auto hide (slide down).https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/80Reduce hide time of playback control panel in fullscreen mode2023-03-19T11:46:31ZYousuf PhilipsReduce hide time of playback control panel in fullscreen modeWhen in fullscreen mode, the playback control panel stays on screen for 5 seconds before disappearing and this should be reduced.

Situation: Subtitles lose sync when seeking. Loading subtitles from an SRT file. Happens with any movie I watch regardless of file type, majority being MP4. Turning them off and on again doesn't resolve the issue, infact it gets worse. The only fix is starting the movie over from the beginning.
What I did/How to reproduce:
Load a movie with subtitles.
Seek with the arrow keys or skip ahead by moving the needle.
Starting the movie from the beginning brings everything back into sync.https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/113Parole is not opening up2023-01-30T05:02:29ZtarunParole is not opening upParole does not show anything although the process is still running along with the gstreamer process. After a bit of investigation, it seems that `DATADIRNAME` isn't really supported anymore (https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/blob/master/configure.ac.in#L143) and thus the pixmap installation dir ends up wrong (`/usr/parole/pixmaps`).
I've made a tentative patch at https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-team/apps/parole/-/blob/debian/master/debian/patches/0001-Replace-DATADIRNAME-by-datarootdir-in-configure.ac.patch but I'm honestly not totally sure it's suitable so I'd welcome your feedback before uploading that to Debian.4.18.0Gaël BonithonGaël Bonithonhttps://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/issues/117Some dialogs are forced CSD (do not honor gtk-dialogs-use-header)2023-07-27T15:28:28ZGaël BonithonSome dialogs are forced CSD (do not honor gtk-dialogs-use-header)[Open Media Files](https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/blob/589944f46bfd82c244a609cb1639c3e656f1f307/data/interfaces/mediachooser.ui#L10) and [Open Network Location](https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/blob/589944f46bfd82c244a609cb16...[Open Media Files](https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/blob/589944f46bfd82c244a609cb1639c3e656f1f307/data/interfaces/mediachooser.ui#L10) and [Open Network Location](https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/parole/-/blob/589944f46bfd82c244a609cb1639c3e656f1f307/data/interfaces/open-location.ui#L10). Hovering a pointer and using the mouse wheel over a speaker icon (without clicking) to reduce or increase volume in Linux DE's is a normal thing.
Parole allows only decrease, while increase doesn't work. It's not entirely unresponsive, but not usable.
For example, from 100% to 0% you can go in just a few wheel scrolls. However, from 0% it only goes up to about 2% then it refuses to increase.
This message is displayed in terminal every time you try to raise volume with a wheel:

This is in order to keep the viewing experience uninterrupted. However, if the playlist bar is open, and you alt+tab out of Parole and back in, the mouse visibility is set false as expected but because the playlist bar is open, shaking the mouse doesn't set the mouse visibility to true. The mouse gets stuck as invisible until the playlist bar is closed.
I propose that if the playlist bar is open, then the mouse should always be visible, one way this can be done is by changing line 3073 in /src/parole-player.c:
Old code:
`if (!gtk_window_is_active(GTK_WINDOW(player->priv->window))) {
parole_player_set_cursor_visible(player, TRUE);`
New proposed code:
`if (!gtk_window_is_active(GTK_WINDOW(player->priv->window)) || parole_player_get_playlist_visible (player)) {
parole_player_set_cursor_visible(player, TRUE);`
I tried making a merge request but I think my account is too new for that.
